Counselor's Corner

Our Life skills for the Month of October are: trustworthiness, truthfulness, right to pass, and personal best. In Tribes, the students will learn that being trustworthy includes being dependable and reliable. Being truthful is being honest with ourselves and others. Having the right to pass means choosing the extent to participate in a group activity that involves sharing feelings, not including learning tasks when accountability is required such as homework and class work. Personal best is doing the best possible given the time and resources available. When discussing personal best with your child, it can be helpful to ask your child if THEY think they did their personal best, rather than judging their work.

During the last week of October, we will be celebrating Red Ribbon Week. We will have a number of activities to promote drug awareness and teach students about illegal drug use. A flyer will be sent home with more information.
