Adopt-A-School Partners in Education

The school’s community Adopt-A-School Partner in Education is the Tulsa Global
Alliance (TGA), a local organization that serves as the umbrella agency for 52 local
groups, many representing international cultural and ethnic interests. Eisenhower enjoys
three partners in education through the Adopt-A-School program jointly sponsored by
Tulsa Public Schools and the Tulsa Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce.

The partners and school projects are listed below:

  1. Tulsa Global Alliance (TGA) – A community organization that serves as an
umbrella for a number of local organizations representing international
interests in the Tulsa community. Many of the organizations within TGA
represent cultural-based interests, such as the German America Society and
    the Italian American Club.

    • Secured grant from Oklahoma Humanities Council to start the Culture Box
Project. The Culture Boxes contain authentic, hands-on artifacts to be used in
global studies and cultural education activities. Twenty-eight countries are
represented in more than 30 boxes. The Boxes are available for check-out by
other Tulsa Public School sites, high education staff and community
      organizations.

    • TGA sponsors a city-wide activity, Kids World, presented every other year.

    • TGA invites all Eisenhower students to attend this multicultural interactive kids’
fair. Students perform on stage through one full day of the activity, showcasing
French and Spanish language songs and cultural dances.

    • Upon request, TGA provides guest speakers and cultural storytellers to the school
      for special instructional purposes.

    • A representative from TGA sits on the Site Advisory Council for the school.

    • Writes grants to promote the school’s efforts to encourage multicultural,
      international education.
