Reading
Conference
This event encourages student writing. Each school may send about 10% of their students to a Saturday conference where students share their stories, & meet real
authors/illustrators. There are opportunities for pictures with the visiting author(s), books to buy (signed by authors) and event T-shirts may be purchased. Participating students are required to write and illustrate a story of their own to share at the conference. Teachers select students for participation.
Every other year in the spring. Exact date varies, but is usually on a
Saturday. (April 24th, 2003)
