January 2006
Dear Parents,
Welcome back and Happy New
Year to you and your family!
Please join me in welcoming
Ingrid Delk to our family! Madam Delk is the
new French 5th Para teacher. She is from
Guadeloupe, French West Indies and is fluent
in French and in Spanish. She is currently
certified to teach in Spanish, Social
Studies and is working on her French
certification. Please stop by and welcome
her to EIS!
“Schools of Choice”
applications for upcoming Kinders and for
our current 5th graders will be available
for pick up on Jan. 17th. The applications
are due to the ESC no later than 4:00 on
Feb. 17th. The EIS Tours will begin this
month for anyone interested in applying for
Kinder.
“School Talk Time” with the
principal is scheduled for Tuesday, January
17th at 2:00. If you have any ideas,
suggestions, questions, or concerns please
feel free to stop by and visit with me
during this time or anytime you need to!
Remember, my door is always open to you and
your family!
Second Quarter Report Cards
will be sent home on Tuesday, Jan. 24th. We
will honor all those students who had
“Perfect Attendance” in the Rise and Shine
Assembly on Monday, January 30th.
Last but not least, we are
kicking the “new year” off with a visionary
project for Eisenhower! Some of you may
remember “Ideas for Ike” which was a vision
our members came up with several years ago.
Since that list is depleted and we have some
many new members to our family, the EIS Site
Council has decided to try our hand at
“Strategic Planning”. Strategic Planning is
a process of getting input from all the
members of our community, compiling it and
then presenting it back to the community. We
are hoping to come up with a long term
vision of where we would like our students
and our school to be in five years, ten
years, etc. Our hope is that this process
will enable our members to have a common
vision with common goals. It may even help
us to determine what we think is important
to fund, etc. Please plan on attending the
EIS PTA meeting on Thursday, Jan. 12 at 7:00
to hear more about this project. If you are
unable to attend the meeting, however you
are interested in giving us your input,
please contact the EIS Site Council Parent
Reps, Elaine Ard or Karen Bruns.
Again, Happy New Year to you
and your family. Best wishes in 2006!
