Dear Parents:

Upon your child entering Kindergarten, the staff at EIS began preparing them to be successful students. While success is measured in many different ways; one way is by taking the state mandated “Criterion Reference Tests”. We are approaching that time of the year when our students will be taking these important tests. Please mark your calendars and note that all 2nd grade students will take the Otis Lennon Test during the week of February 7th – February 11th. Also, please note that all 5th grade students will take the “State Writing Test” on February 23rd. We would appreciate your support during these testing times by having your child do a few simple things: get plenty of rest, eat a healthy breakfast, and arrive to school on time. Also, please give them an encouraging hug on the way out the door and stress to them how important it is for them to do their very best!

Tulsa Public Schools is offering an opportunity for our community members to use our school facilities in the learning process and they are looking for input to help develop a new program. The new program is a “Community Education Program”. This program is characterized by offering reasonably priced, high quality, lifelong opportunities for professional growth for everyone in the community. Programs include educational, recreational, and social activities. We actually have a Community Ed class going on at EIS already but we are willing to host more! Last but not least, I would like to take this opportunity and welcome Mr. Steve Skeie to our EIS family! Mr. Skeie is filling in for me while I am out for the six weeks on maternity leave. Stop by and welcome him to our school if you have a chance.
