February 2006
Dear Parents,
Have you heard about the
wonderful award Eisenhower received from the
State of Oklahoma Dept. of Education? For
the first time ever, the Dept. of Education
gave out awards to the schools in Oklahoma
for high achievement and for making the most
progress in a school year. Ten schools were
selected and TPS was honored to have three
on the list! Eisenhower International was
chosen because we had the HIGHEST STUDENT
ACHIEVEMENT among the schools of our size in
the state of Oklahoma! A special thank
you to our entire faculty, students and
parents who helped make this possible! THANK
YOU!
There are many “Strategic
Planning” kits still available. We really
want your input. If you have not picked one
up yet, please do so. There is a box in the
front hallway with kits ready for you! The
deadline is Friday, Feb. 10 at 3:00.
On Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2006 our
entire school will go see the Tulsa Oilers
play a hockey game. We are encouraging all
our students to wear light blue that day if
they can. If light blue is not a choice for
you, a light color such as white would be
great!
On Feb. 22, 2006 our 5th
grade students will take the State Writing
Test. This test is mandatory for all our 5th
graders and there will be no make up
sessions. If you have a 5th grade student at
EIS, please help us and make sure he or she
is here that day. All the 5th grade students
need to get plenty of rest the night before,
eat a healthy breakfast and be ready to do
their BEST!
Mardi Gras will be held on
Feb. 28th for all our French parents. The
students will perform for the school at 2:00
and then for the parents at 7:00. Each
French class should have specific
instructions for their students. Please
check with the teacher or homeroom moms for
those instructions.
Thank you for your continued
support! Eisenhower is a “School of Choice”
because of you and your commitment! We
appreciate you!
