March 2005
Dear Parents:
Thank you so much for all
your congratulation notes, cards, gifts, and
warm thoughts for the birth of our second
son! The Strow family is doing well and we
are all adjusting to having a new baby in
our home.
Mr. Steve Skeie’s last day
as acting principal will be March 11th. I
will return to work full time from my leave
on Monday, March 14th. If you have time;
please stop and by and thank Mr. Skeie for
his service at EIS the last six weeks. He
was a huge help to me and did a great job in
my absence!
The EIS staff over the last
few months has been busy nominating and
voting on several awards. I would like to
take this time to announce the following
awards and congratulate the following
members of our community!
The “EIS Support Employee of
the Year” is Dana Karlin. Mrs. Karlin works
as our library assistant and is Mrs.
McCrary’s right hand “woman”. She quietly
goes above and beyond her job duties each
day and is always there to help our
students, staff and parents with any thing
they may need! Thank you Dana for all your
efforts!
The “EIS Teacher of the
Year” is Veronica Allan. Senora Allan is our
first grade Spanish teacher and is so
deserving of this honor. She is organized,
loving, and always there for her students.
She sets high expectations for her students
but makes learning fun at the same time!
Thank you Senora Allan for all your
commitment to the EIS community!
The “Volunteer of the Year”
is Kara Folkins. Kara is a parent of two
dolphins and has served in many capacities
over the last six years. She has been a
“Homeroom Mom”, helped with the Jog-A-Thon,
Mardi Gras, and Fiestivale events just to
name a few. She defines the true meaning of
volunteer! Thank you Kara for all your
support through the years!
For each award, there were
many nominees and each was a close race!
Thank you to all the members of our
community, the staff and the parents.
Eisenhower would not be Eisenhower without
you!
Sincerely,
Stacy Strow
