March 2006

Dear Parents,

Have you noticed new faces around EIS lately? Please join us in welcoming the following people to our school! In January, Ms. Donna Davis joined our Pre K classroom as their
teacher assistant. Ms. Davis has a CDA in Early Childhood and she is a mom of two boys! Last week, Ms. Cheryl Armstrong joined our staff as our new health assistant. Ms. Armstrong has extensive experience in the health field and is a mother of two girls! Hopefully in the next few days you will see a new face in the office. Mrs. Jeanne Hunt will be our new office clerk. Mrs. Hunt has lived in Tulsa for the last six years and her husband is the band director at Lewis and Clark. She has spent her life volunteering and/or working in public schools and is the mother of three grown boys!

We are continuing to work very hard at EIS to provide a quality education for your child. The 3rd quarter will come to an end on March 17th and then the entire community will receive a well deserved break – Spring Break. Please remember we are not in school from March 20-24, 2006. Please note the Spring Parent Teacher Conferences are scheduled for March 30 and March 31 (the first week we are back from Spring Break). Please look for information to come home on these conferences, please make sure to schedule one!

The EIS staff is very excited to announce the Parent Volunteer of the Year is Janet
Hasegawa! Mrs. Hasegawa was instrumental in getting the Opera to our school, donated DVD’s players to our entire upper grade level teacher and has tutored some of our students in reading several days a week! This school simply would not be EIS without volunteers such as Mrs. Hasegawa and volunteers like you! Please allow this time to say “Thank You” to all the volunteers who do Science Enrichment, Jr. Great Books, work in the library, stuff home and backs, serve as homeroom moms, help in the building whenever duty calls, serve on the PTA Board, PTA Committees, Foundation Board, and so much more! THANK YOU! You make a difference each and everyday!

Have a wonderful Spring Break! See you at conferences!
