April 2006

Dear Parents,

Happy Spring to you and your family! April is here and will prove to be another busy month in and around EIS!

This Friday night, April 7th is the EIS Fiestivale. It begins at 6:00pm at the Downtown Doubletree Hotel. It is not too late to sign up to attend, please send in your reservation tomorrow and come join us for the festivities!

Monday, April 10th our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students will kick off the “OCCT Testing” week. These tests are mandated by the state and are very important. This is the “Super Bowl” of all tests! Please refer to Mrs. Heil’s Counselor’s Corner on what you can do to help your child this week!

Also, on April 10th at 10:00am, we will enroll for the 2006-2007 EIS Pre K program. If you have a child who will be four by Sept. 1, 2006 please come to the café on Monday at 10:00 to enroll. Please bring with you proof of address, copy of birth certificate, shot records, and a CDIB card if applicable.

Mrs. Emily Wood, our Exchange Coordinator, has worked extremely hard this year on our French Exchange. All of her hard work has paid off and we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our 3 French students who will be here on Sunday, April 16th. After a two week stay, we will send them off with our own EIS Ambassadors and our chaperone, Philippe Corbaz to France on April 29th. Please join us for a Farwell Assembly on the 28th at 2:30 in the gym. Let’s send our EIS Ambassadors off in style!

The Orff Ensemble will give a concert for our school on April 25th at 2:00 and at 7:00. Please join us and hear what our students have been learning all year!

Last but not least, please make a calendar change regarding the last day of school. Since, we did not use all of the snow days that were built in we are moving up the last day of school. The last day of school for EIS students (unless we have a snowstorm between now and then) will be Thursday, May 25th.

Thank you for your continued support!
