Monday, August 20th is the
first day of school for all students in
grades 1-5. Once again, we are setting a
goal of “100% membership”. Please help us
attain this goal and make sure your child is
in attendance on the 20th.
For our Pre K and
Kindergarten students we will host a
mandatory orientation meeting on Monday,
August 20th at 8:45 in the school gym. Every
Pre K and Kindergarten student and parent
must attend this mandatory meeting. All Pre
K and Kindergarten students will have a 15
minute screening scheduled either on the
20th or the 21st of August. The classroom
teacher should contact you by phone or email
to schedule your child’s screening. All Pre
K and Kindergarten students will begin “full
day” on Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007.
Please note Eisenhower has
new start time this year. Our new school
hours are
8:15 – 3:05.
Be sure to mark you
calendars for the following upcoming events:
-
Thursday, August 16th
from 6:00-8:00 P.M. “Back to School
Skate Night” sponsored by the EIS PTA.
This event will be at Skateland at 11th
and Sheridan.
-
Friday, August 17th from
12:00 – 2:00 “Open House” at Eisenhower.
Come meet the teachers, drop off
supplies and join the EIS PTA and EIS
Foundation.
-
Monday, August 20th at
8:45 “Mandatory Orientation Meeting” for
all Pre K and Kindergarten students in
the Eisenhower gym.
Last but not least, I am
proud to announce that we met our Phase II
playground goal this summer. We raised
approximately $54,000.00 which will enable
us to purchase a new playground system for
our “older children area”. Our hope is this
system will be installed and ready to play
on by the end of September. A HUGE THANK YOU
to all the EIS students, the EIS PTA, the
EIS Foundation and of course the remarkable
EIS parents. We simply could not have done
this without each of you! THANK YOU!
The staff at Eisenhower is
looking forward to a great year! See you at
school!
