September 2006
Dear Parents:
Bonjour, Hola, Hello! We are
excited, organized, and full of energy and
off to a great start this year!
For the safety of all of our
children, we are asking that each parent
please review the following drop off/pick up
policy and strictly adhere to it:
Circle Drive in North
Parking Lot – students may be dropped off at
the end of the drive and enter through the
east door. You may pick up there as well
however you may have to circle around until
your child is outside.
-
Please do not park in
front of our building. This area is for
our buses.
-
Fence on New Haven along
playground – Parents may drop off and
pick up. Please do NOT leave your car
unattended.
-
ESC Parking Lot –
Parents may only park their car and walk
their children to the gate. Please do
not drop your child off by the gate or
allow them to cross the parking lot on
their own.
September is going to prove
itself to be a busy month around EIS!
First, we would like to
invite all parents to our annual “Back to
School” night which will be held on
Thursday, September 7th at 6:30. We will
meet in the gym at 6:30. We will have a
French and Spanish Book Fair also so please
feel free to shop. We will not have child
care so please remember this event is for
adults only.
Then on Tuesday, September
19th we would like to invite everyone to our
“Hispanic Festival”. We will celebrate
“Hispanic Heritage” month by having all our
Spanish classes perform. We will have two
performances and you are welcome to attend
either or both.
Thursday, September 21st EIS
will hold its first “NED Challenge” of the
year. This is the day we challenge our K –
5th grade students to use “No English all
Day long”. The students who accomplish the
goal we will be recognized in a future Rise
and Shine Assembly.
Saturday, September 23rd our
EIS Ambassadors will depart Tulsa to begin
their eight week exchange at San Louis
Potosi, Mexico. Our ambassadors are well
prepared and we know they will represent EIS
well in our Sister City! Saturday, September
30th the Ambassadors from San Louis Potosi
will arrive in Tulsa and meet their host
families. Thank you to all the families who
are participating in this exchange and thank
you to Mrs. Emily Wood! We understand what
it takes to send or host a child and we
applaud your commitment and faith in us!
Wednesday, September 27th I
will hold the first “School Talk Time” of
the year! School Talk Time is a scheduled
time I set every month for any parent to
come in and visit with me. While my door is
always open, I understand sometimes it may
be easier or more convenient if a time is
scheduled. Please feel to come by and share
any ideas, concerns, questions you have with
me.
Thank you for all you do for
our staff and children every day! We
appreciate you and thank you for making EIS
your “School of Choice”.
