October 2004
Dear Parents,
It’s hard to believe it is
October already and we have completed four
weeks of school.
During the month of October we have several
important events scheduled.
Thursday, October 7 is
Eisenhower night at Celebration Station. The
students will receive a wrist band at the
end of the day on Thursday that will enable
them to enter Celebration Station that night
free of charge. All rides and games will be
free for the students. Everyone is invited
to attend!
Tuesday, October 19 we will
hold a “Dedication Ceremony” at 2:30 in the
gym. We will officially dedicate the new
arbor that was built outside by the Global
Learning Center. Mark Hammond (former
dolphin) spent many hours this last summer
building this arbor for our students and he
did a great professional job. It will be
enjoyed by many dolphins for years to come!
We will also officially name the gym the
“Gunning Activity Center” at this ceremony.
It was decided at the end of last year that
the gym should be named after Linda Gunning,
PE teacher, who retired from Tulsa Public
Schools. The Gunning Activity Center is a
great way to honor Linda for all her hard
work and dedication to the EIS community.
Parent-Teacher Conferences
will be held Tuesday, October 19 from 3:15
until 6:00 P.M. and Wednesday, October 20
from 8:15 until 11:00 A.M. Each teacher will
schedule their own conferences. Please look
for information to be coming home regarding
these conferences. It is our hope that every
parent will be able to attend a conference!
Last not but not least,
there are several runs coming up in October.
The “Hurricane Run” was a huge success and
we would like to build upon that. Please
mark your calendars for Oct. 9, 16, and 30
and come join us for fun exercise time!
Thank you for your ongoing
support and commitment to EIS. We appreciate
you!
